Grade 3 – Astronomy: Mother of All Science
Students explored the basics of astronomy, the solar system, directions, and sundials. Through hands-on activities, they learned how the Sun helps measure time by observing changes in shadows, and how ancient civilizations used sundials to divide the day.
Grade 4 – Constellations and Navigation
Students learned how stars form constellations and how these patterns were used for navigation in ancient times. Through a Constellation Box activity, they practiced identifying constellations and using stars to determine directions.
Grade 5 – Edge of the Solar System
Students explored Voyager 1 and 2, the Voyager Golden Record, and concepts like the heliosphere and heliopause. In a creative activity, they imagined themselves as space explorers and designed messages for extraterrestrial life inspired by the Golden Record.
